Death threats to Omar Sharif for playing a Christian

Probably just kids mouthing off on the internet, even if on an al-Qaeda linked forum, but typical if Islam.

"Death threats to the Egyptian-born actor Omar Sharif have appeared in Islamist forums on the Internet, after Sharif's appearance as a Christian, Saint Peter, in an Italian biblical epic for television."

A famous actor plays a part of a historical figure, in the west this would barely be noticed. It is what actors do. However for Muslims things are slightly different, and they think Omar Sharif deserves a death sentence for playing Saint Peter. This being Islam as well we know that there would be attempts to carry out any death sentence should it actually be passed down by any self appointed Imam that decides to issue a Fatwa.
